After traveling around the world full-time Nora had to replace the stuff she carried with her… so at this point every thing she owns is a souvenir of sorts.
As my friend Bill Shapiro mentioned during this same event, sometimes Things have a story even before they come into our lives.
Nora had learned of a store in Antigua Guatemala that carries colorful recycled fabric from the surrounding communities. They are used & many are woven.
Nora picked this cloth to carry with her. Eventually she had it made into cushions & covering for her dining room chairs.
Every time she sits at her table or on her couch with the pillow she thinks about her time in Guatemala. She ponders its history & daydreams about: Who owned this before her? Who made it? Who wore it before it came to her?
She toured China with the ballet & bought the scrolls on the wall behind her. She didn’t sell every Thing… She kept these scrolls from her first international trip when she was 16 years old. Why? Because they are priceless & irreplaceable.
She must have caught wanderlust on that first trip because she’s now The Professional Hobo! Still traveling & teaching others how they can travel inexpensively &/or live a location independent life like she does.
